NeuRight: Nurturing Young Minds

NeuRight: A Healthy Brain for a Healthy Society

A pioneering, school-based neuroplasticity program designed to promote adolescents’ mental health, enhance cognitive development, and unlock the limitless potential of every child.

The NeuRight Concept

NeuRight is a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing the well-being and cognitive health of students during early adolescence—a critical period for brain development. This program, developed by the Centre of Excellence in Neurodegeneration and Brain Health (CENABH) in collaboration with SynaptOm and the Centre for Neuroscience (CNS) at CUSAT, leverages interdisciplinary expertise to foster academic excellence, emotional resilience, and social competence. By focusing on this crucial developmental stage,NeuRight provides the tools for students to build a strong foundation for a healthy and successful future.

The Science of Adolescent Brain Development

The NeuRight program is grounded in substantial scientific evidence highlighting that early adolescence is a unique window of opportunity for brain development. During this time, the brain undergoes significant changes, making it highly receptive to positive influence. Neuroplasticity-based interventions during this period can significantly enhance cognitive capabilities and may even reduce the risk of future neurodegenerative conditions. NeuRight combines neuroscience-based tools, creativity, and structured learning to harness the brain's natural ability to adapt and grow, reflecting the belief that every child possesses limitless potential waiting to be realized.

A Holistic Approach to Student Growth t

The NeuRight program addresses tudent development from every angle by focusing on six integral domains, creating a comprehensive and nurturing environment.

  • Sensory-Motor Domain: Activities designed to enhance sensory processing and motor skills.
  • Cognitive Domain: Exercises to improve crucial cognitive functions like memory, attention, and problem-solving.
  • Psychosocial Domain: Interventions aimed at fostering self-awareness and essential interpersonal skills.
  • Emotional Domain: Techniques to strengthen emotional regulation and build lasting resilience.
  • Social Domain: Group activities structured to enhance communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical Domain: A focus on physical activities that promote overall health, coordination, and well-being.
